The Tintswalo family has opened a new restaurant and wine boutique in Glencairn, Cape Town.

Situated at the iconic Glencairn Hotel, the location has been transformed into the Deep South Eatery and Deep South Supply Company.

For the travel industry, it is a welcome addition on route to the tourist attractions of Cape Point and the penguins of Boulders. It is, however, also geared towards locals and families, with comfortable outdoor and indoor dining areas, and lawns with jungle gyms and safe play areas for children.

The restaurant includes a Hickory Shack traditional smokehouse, in partnership with ‘pitmaster’ Jay Haupt, the owner of the original Hickory Shack outside Elgin. Offering diners the opportunity to ‘eat around the world’, the Deep South Eatery menu also includes Italian wood-fired pizzas and build-your own pizzas for children, as well as signature sushi dishes and bistro classics, and vegan options.

The Deep South Supply Company, located on street level, is a stylish wine boutique and liquor retail shop. It also specialises in selling gift items, biltong, fresh meat and everything one needs for the perfect braai at home.
