Chef James Khoza, President of the SA Chefs Association, along with the Board of Directors, the Office, Members, Partners, and Associates, extended their best wishes to the Junior Team, stating, “The success of our association lies in the hands of our capable and passionate youth.”

In response to the growing need for a Continental Culinary expression and a benchmark of excellence, Chef Stephen Billingham, Honorary President of the SA Chefs Association, inaugurated the African Culinary Cup in South Africa in 2013. This prestigious competition, endorsed by World Chefs, unites young national teams from across Africa.

With five successful competitions held since its inception, involving World Chefs member countries from Africa and the Middle East, the African Culinary Cup has established itself as a premier platform for young chefs to network and compete in a professional and inspiring environment. It nurtures and enhances the culinary skills and experiences of young culinarians throughout the region.

The core mission of the competition is to inspire chefs to uphold the highest standards of culinary excellence and professionalism. Through the African Culinary Cup, these goals are pursued at the highest level, fostering knowledge transfer, dedication, and skill development.

This year’s theme emphasizes cooking with wholesome ingredients that nourish the mind, body, and soul, utilising fresh, local produce.
