TikTok is a weird and wonderful place, especially when it comes to food. Here are some of the site’s most viral recipe trends.

Whether you’re into trendy dances, makeup tutorials, or memes, TikTok has something for everyone. In the world of food, it’s no different. Staying true to its wacky roots, using the #FoodTok will navigate you to some of the site’s most weird, and wonderful recipes. These can go from mildly tame recipes for pasta bakes or bread to just plain strange i.e.: candyfloss ramen strange. Here are some of the most viral food trends from TikTok.

Baked Feta Pasta

This recipe originated in Finland and was allegedly so popular that grocers started running out of feta cheese. This dish basically just tosses some whole cherry tomatoes and feta in the oven and mixes in some pasta at the end. Videos showcasing the recipe have garnered millions upon millions of views with the #fetapasta having over one billion videos under its belt.

Cloud Bread

The #cloudbread on TikTok has over three billion views with new variations of the recipe still coming out to this day. If you take a look under the hashtag, you are likely to find something that very loosely fits the definition of “bread”. This recipe only uses egg whites, sugar, and cornstarch (Maizena). It is whisked together and baked for about 20 minutes resulting in a light, fluffy and sweet “bread”.

Dalgona Ice-coffee

This recipe for a foamy iced coffee first came to the public’s attention in 2020. It has now been coined as the “official” drink of the pandemic and for good reason. It requires little more than some ice cubes, sugar, milk and instant coffee, ingredients which are inexpensive and readily available in most households, even during the first heavy lockdowns. The coffee and sugar are whipped up into a foamy cloud and then set atop a bed of icy milk of your choice, resulting in a bittersweet ice coffee that is very aesthetically pleasing, all made in the comfort of your own home!
