GrandWest’s Food and Beverage Manager brings experience and a positive attitude to his role

GrandWest’s Food and Beverage Manager, Thulani Ncube, has international experience in his field and hopes to have a positive impact on his department.

Ncube says, “What I love about working at GrandWest is meeting different guests every day and making their day! I enjoy that no day is the same as the next, and every day brings new challenges. I also get a lot of satisfaction from growing and motivating my staff,” he says.

“The company as a whole offers a fantastic support structure and a very experienced team of managers whom I learn from every day. I enjoy the fun and thrills of working at this exciting property.”

Ncube joined Sun International in 2011 as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at the Wild Coast Sun and moved to the Graceland Casino as Food and Beverage Manager in 2014. Between 2015 and 2017, he worked in Tanzania for Le Grande and Palm Beach Casinos, again as the Food and Beverage Manager. “I was very pleased to join the GrandWest team in November 2017,” he says.

Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest says, “Thulani Ncube’s experience has really helped him excel in the food and beverage space, especially with guest service, product knowledge, financial and stock controls, departmental budgets and leadership. He is a wonderful addition to our strong team.”

Ncube says, “I want to add value to the company and be part of the best team in the industry. Being the biggest casino in Africa, GrandWest offers many opportunities and the company is committed to investing in its employees.

“I would like to positively contribute to the company, improve the Food and Beverage Department so that it is the best in the Sun International Group. I’d also like to collaborate with other departments for an even more positive impact on our guests,” he says. “Personally, I hope to grow in the position and move up the ladder in three to five years.”
