Home cooks and chefs: enter now to stand a chance of winning great prizes and R15,000 in cash
Whether you’re a qualified chef, independent pizza maker or simply a great home cook if you have perfected the pizza, here’s your chance to win bragging rights, prizes and even a R15,000 cash prize.
Entries close soon for the South African leg of the 2019 Global Pizza Challenge, which pits contestants against each other to make the best pizzas in South Africa. The Global Pizza Challenge is the planet’s biggest pizza competition, with national winners selected to compete on an international level.
Enter now to go into the first round, where your original pizza recipes will be judged, and finalists will be selected to compete in the SA Regional leg of the Global Pizza Challenge bake-off at Africa’s Big 7 food and beverage trade show from 23rd – 25th June 2019, at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg. In this exciting event, finalists will bring their own dough, sauce and toppings and go onstage to prepare pizzas for a panel of judges.
Five categories will be judged:
- Meat,
- Poultry,
- Seafood,
- Vegetarian and
- Speciality or Dessert.
All finalists will receive a commemorative plate and certificate, the top six contestants will receive an additional mixed hamper courtesy of their sponsors, and the winner of the 2019 Global Pizza Challenge South Africa will a cash prize of R15, 000, a winner’s trophy and their name engraved on the floating trophy.
The winner will also go on to participate in a grand final event where the Global Champion is crowned.
