Cape winter sunsets are mesmerizing from the vantage point of The Table Bay’s Union Bar.
Overlooking the working harbour and one of the Wonders of the World, Table Mountain, the Union Bar is an inviting space to find sanctuary from winter’s chill and enjoy some of the most innovative cocktails in Cape Town before an inspiring dinner at The Table Bay’s Camissa Brasserie.
Seasonality and authenticity of ingredients influence the ever-evolving menu of cocktails available at the Union Bar. The bartenders are also free to be creative and experiment with various fresh ingredients and liquor combinations to rejuvenate familiar favourites and always offer guests something new to explore.
One of the feature cocktails available at the Union Bar in June is the Atlantic Breeze, a refreshing blend of black currant vodka, orange, mint and lemon-tinged with Blue Curaçao to deliver a delightful colour.
“It’s so refreshing and such a vibrant colour, you’ll think you’re sipping on summer which is an exciting contradiction to the winter grey outside,”
Marc Weber, Food and Beverage Manager at The Table Bay.
He shares the easy recipe for those who want a taste of The Table Bay at home.

The Union Bar and Conservatory is an enticing space to meet, connect and relax. Guests can savour a variety of drinks and cocktails from the bar, and enjoy a selection of light meals from the menu which has recently been refreshed to reflect The Table Bay’s focus on fresh, seasonal and local fare.
Afternoon sundowners, followed by dinner at the hotel’s Camissa Brasserie, is a perfect way to end a winter’s day. Diverse and delicious, the evolving menu encourages the exploration of Western Cape-inspired dishes and homegrown flavours that aren’t readily elsewhere in the world.
Taking its name from the Khoisan word for Cape Town – The Place of Sweet Waters – Camissa Brasserie offers a contemporary and relaxed style of dining. Eating at Camissa is a sensory experience overlooking the busy working harbour, while quietly tucked away from the bustle of the V&A Waterfront.
