A team of award-winning chef-lecturers lead students in small practical classes. This, and much more, is what you can expect as a student at the 1000 Hills Chef School.

The institution has a campus residence complete with gym and Wi-Fi. Successful candidates require a personal interview, which can be arranged via video-chat.

Support in Challenging Times

1000 Hills is extremely proud of its team of lecturers during the lockdown period in 2020. They delivered the highest level of learning through a long-distance learning programme and were extremely clever in the way they put the programme together. For example, students were to debone a chicken, provide photographic evidence, and then make a stew to feed their families. 1000 Hills provided the families with mark sheets so they could be involved. Hot cross buns were turned out for Easter, and the Food and Beverage Diploma students produced the phenomenal virgin cocktails.

Students were also able to keep up to date with theory and returning to school they are delighted to be able to spend more time in the kitchens doing practicals. Both the lecturers and the students rose to the challenge of lockdown, and adjustments were made to accommodate all.
