80 of these premium noble varietals in a not-to-be-missed focused show

Explore the wonderful, complex and delicious world of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at South Africa’s only wine event dedicated to these two noble varietals which grow in popularity year-on-year.

The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Festival takes place at The Crystal Room at the Killarney Country Club on Thursday, May 30, from 18h00.

The festival includes in its impressive line-up more than 80 high-end, award-winning Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, many that are not shown at other festivals because they are often too expensive and with too small a production.

Some of the highlights this year at the festival, regarded as one of the country’s most exclusive boutique wine tastings, include:

  • Oak Valley (Groenlandberg Chardonnay, Tabula Rasa Chardonnay and Pinot Noir)
  • Hartenberg (Eleanor Chardonnay)
  • Jordan (Nine Yards Chardonnay)
  • Eikendal (Infused by Earth Chardonnay)
  • La Brune (Pinot Noir)
  • Groot Constantia (Chardonnay)
  • Ataraxia (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir)
  • Bouchard Finlayson (Pinot Noir)
  • Creation (Reserve Pinot and Chardonnay)
  • Thelema (Ed’s Reserve Chardonnay)
  • Radford Dale (Freedom Pinot Noir)
  • Lismore (Chardonnay)
  • Almenkerk (Chardonnay)
  • Laarman (Focal Point Chardonnay)
  • Uva Mira (The Single Tree Chardonnay)
  • Springfield (Methode Ancienne Chardonnay)

Only a limited number of tickets are available and cost R250 per person. The price includes a tasting glass as well as light snacks chosen to complement the styles of wine being sampled.

In addition to tastings, the wines will also be on sale on the night, at less than retail prices. Some are no longer available on the general marketplace.

Participation by estates is by invitation only with organiser, Corlien Morris of Wine Menu, choosing what wines will be available for tasting to ensure that only the best is shown at the festival – which has been sold-out since it first started in Gauteng eight years ago.

“This is a targeted wine experience that focuses on the flavours and nuances of these two famous Burgundian varietals. We are delighted to be showcasing the best examples that South Africa produces. These are serious show-stopping wines.”

Only 300 tickets will be made available for the 2018 Chardonnay & Pinot Noir Festival so booking is essential.  Tickets can be purchased via www.webtickets.co.za  or from Wine Menu in Kramerville.
