Join Peter Tempelhoff and Two Michelin-Starred Chefs for an Exclusive Masterclass and More…

This June, Chef Peter Tempelhoff and his teams will host culinary events in Cape Town, uniting chefs whose work is rooted in purpose, place, and planet.

Joining Chef Tempelhoff are Chef Shinichiro Takagi of the two-Michelin-starred Zeniya in Kanazawa, Japan, and Chef Jef Schuur of the acclaimed Bij Jef (one-Michelin-starred) in Den Hoorn, the Netherlands. The three chefs – each a member of the World Culinary Council of Relais & Châteaux – will present a series of distinct collaborative experiences across FYN and Sushiya.

Sushiya | Sushi Masterclass

Time Out Market will play host to a hands-on collaboration, as head chef Ryan Reyes is joined by Sushiya founding partners Tempelhoff and Takagi for a sushi-making masterclass. The evening will include an opportunity to make sushi alongside the chefs and later enjoy a six-piece platter prepared by the trio, paired with Fukumitsuya Junmai Sake. A sushi and Junmai sake special will be running for the day and will include an omakase platter prepared by Tempelhoff, Takagi and Reyes.

FYN | Connected by Currents

The critically acclaimed FYN restaurant will play host to an exclusive Relais & Châteaux dinner featuring the three esteemed chefs together with FYN culinary director, Chef Ashley Moss. The evening is in honour of World Oceans Day, and will see a meeting of minds and creativity, as the chefs cook to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding our oceans, while also shining a light on sustainable seafood, and how it can be utilised through their fine cuisines. The four chefs will collaborate on a once-off 12-course tasting experience, comprised of dishes spanning three continents – Asia, Europe and Africa. FYN sommelier and service director Jennifer Hugé will pair the menu with a considered collection of coastal South African wines as well as ocean-inspired cocktails and other delicious libations.
