We are pleased to announce the TOP 6 finalists of the Patron Perfectionists South Africa, we cannot wait and see them in action at the Patron Perfectionist 2019 event in Cape Town.
With hundreds of mixologists and bartenders around South Africa participating in this year’s Patron Perfectionists competition, we were pleased to see nominations from across our beautiful province and this year’s finalists have emerged from a strong and varied field. A brilliant spread geographically and a really good blend of different drinks.
The brand, synonymous with craftsmanship is all about attention to detail and pride in the perfection process.
From the perfectionists who craft the tequila, the mixologists who use Patrón to create beautiful cocktails all the way to the consumer who wants to savour their experience while enjoying a premium tequila. This perfection can be seen in the jimadors selecting the Weber Blue Agave that makes the world-famous tequila, it can be seen in the attention to detail when crafting every single bottle, in fact, it can be seen in every decision one makes.
After careful review and with a long, loud drum roll the top six as follows:
Josh Kaplan, from ‘SoCal Bar’ – (Cape Town)
Cameron-Leigh, from Henning ‘Marble Restaurant – (Johannesburg)
Taneale van der Merwe, from ‘The Little Fox’ – (Johannesburg)
David Van Zyl, from ‘Cause & Effect’ – (Cape Town)
Lungiswa Nduna, from ‘The Little Fox’ – (Johannesburg)
Kim Munro, from ‘Sin + Tax’ – (Johannesburg)
The top six finalists will be Foilage in Franschoek to forage with seasoned forager and Chef Chris Erasmus. They will work in a fun partnership with Chefs Kamini, Katelyn and Chef Mbombi to create an inspired course that takes guests on a sensory experience of tastes, smells and sight.
This winner will go on to represent South Africa at the global final. The Global Finals will be hosted at the home of Patrón, Hacienda Patrón in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco, Mexico in January 2020. The 22 skilled finalists from the various other competing countries will then battle it out in front of the panel of distinguished judges for the highly coveted title of the Global Patrón Perfectionists winner.
